Australian tech startup V2 Digital is poised for expansion with a commitment of AU$30million from Columbia Capital, a growth equity investor with more than 30 years of experience who has backed more than 175 successful communications and technology companies.

Founded in April 2023, V2 Digital leverages its data, software, cloud, and design expertise to solve problems and accelerate clear value for its clients.

With ambitions to be the leading digital and data consultancy in APAC and on track to exceed revenue expectations this financial year, this funding will assist in accelerating V2’s current growth trajectory and enhance its capabilities in delivering impactful and transformative solutions for clients.

“This investment will enable V2 to further bolster our strong market position by strengthening our offerings, attracting top talent to grow our consulting team to 90+ by the end of the year, and broadening our geographical reach beyond our existing footprint in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane,” said Craig Howe, CEO of V2 Digital.

Columbia Capital is known for partnering with experienced entrepreneurs to build category-defining businesses where tech-enabled service solutions can improve the agility, decision-making and innovation capability of large enterprise organisations.

Jason Booma, Partner at Columbia Capital, said the investors saw the potential in V2 with Craig Howe at the helm, the proven ability of the team and recognised the gap in the market for clients seeking deep and specialised expertise. Howe previously founded Nebulr, which was acquired by Contino of which he became Managing Director of APAC. The team brings hands-on experience having previously delivered over 150+ large-scale transformations across key industries.

“With an exceptional leadership team, spearheaded by Craig, along with an experienced team of talented data specialists, software and cloud engineers and designers, we saw the potential of V2’s service offerings and believe the business is on track to cement its position as a go-to brand for complex and transformative solutions,” Booma said.

This year, through several significant engagements, V2 Digital has delivered measurable value for several household brands in the retail, energy, healthcare, media, and construction sectors.

“We have a deep appreciation and understanding of the challenges leaders face today, with many in our ranks having been key decision-makers on the customer side, contributed to growing tech organisations, built market-leading consultancies, and held senior positions inside all three hyperscalers - Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google and Microsoft,” Howe said.

This news comes after V2’s November 2023 announcement highlighting the appointment of Matt Farmer as a board member and investor who brings extensive experience in building and scaling successful consultancies, combined with his strategic vision. It also follows senior leadership appointments at V2 of Ex-Microsoft Chief Architect, Shane Baldacchino, to the position of Director of Cloud, Ex-Servian Director, Steve Tzortzidis, to the position of Director of Data & AI and former Microsoft CTO and AWS Head of Technology, Australia and New Zealand, Dr Pete Stanski, to Chief Technology Officer.

V2 has achieved numerous accolades, having recently become one of the fastest partners globally to attain Advanced Tier status within the prestigious AWS Partner Network, in only three months. It was also selected as a finalist for AWS Rising Star Partner of the Year 2024 in Australia and New Zealand and is on track for AWS Premier Status in record time. The business has been recognised as one of the Best Places to Work in Australia.
