How much Optus data was used at the Matildas and State of Origin leagues? Featured

Last week, the Accor Stadium hosted the Matildas and the first State of Origin rugby leagues, filling the venue with diehard fans. Today, Optus revealed how much data their customers used on those days.

According to reports, 76, 798 went to Matildas and 77,214 opted for Origin. With thousands of customers, one can only imagine how much data was consumed as people texted, uploaded videos, and shared their experiences at both events.

EFTM reported that 29.6% of the Matildas crowd and 30.7% of Origin were connected to the Optus network.

According to Optus, customers at the Matildas game uploaded 650,082MB of data. EFTM said that this would be the equivalent of 162,521 photos being shared.

For Origin, it saw customers upload 880,867MB of data, which translates to 220,217 photos.

Downloads were at all time high with Matildas fans using 1,766,279MB of data while Origin fans cracked the two million megabyte mark.
